All Courses 9 Topic 9 Verbs
Verbs

Prerequisite Skills: Receptive and Expressive Labels, Follows 1-Step Instructions

Note: Once a student has mastered 1-Step Instructions, turn it into a Verbs program. Instead of saying, “Clap hands” or “Wave bye” change your SD to “Show me clapping” “Show me waving.” Now voila! It’s verbs!!

Teaching Tips: Some students may be better at 2D than 3D and vice versa. You might have to separate 2-D and 3-D verbs into 2 separate programs (one for cards and one for actions).

Once a student has acquired identifications of actions using 1-word, go back and expand the verbs into sentences (Verb Sentences 2-D)

When teaching verb sentences, use the visual text cue: the boy / girl is (attached) *Note: If a student has not learned boy/girl teach verb-noun only without subject or use known subjects (e.g., mom is kicking ball, dad is clapping hands, etc.)

Here’s a great link for free flash cards for this program

Google images is also a great source for verbs.
