Prerequisite Skills: Quantity (matches quantity to number and number to quantity), rote counting (up to 100), receptive and expressive numbers
As an aside, money and counting coins is a personal pet peeve of ours. Every parent and teacher in the world wants us to teach extremely delayed learners how to count coins. Why?? Fast forward 20 years from now when they will actually be required to pay for items. Do you really think that coins are even going to exist? With debit and credit cards, apple pay, and amazon stores, coins are going to be the least of our worries in 20 years from now.
For delayed learners who will take a lifetime to learn coins, teaching them the concept of paying with more will be way more functional a skill.
