When managing negative behavior where we already know the function, it is helpful to know specific situations where the student has engaged in the problem behavior. Then we can role play those situations and teach desensitization.
Use the “Antecedent Log” to collect ongoing data of antecedent events that trigger negative behaviour. These can then be targeted systematically – one at a time until each scenario reaches mastery.
