All Courses 9 Lesson 9 Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Assessment
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Assessment

We use the ESDM assessment a lot with younger learners. Many beginner learners who don’t understand the first/then contingency and who typically don’t interact with an adult for longer than 1-minute benefit from skills suggested in Level 1 of this program.

Joint attention, follows a point, responds to stop/sit/wait are skills that are measured in this assessment. It’s for those students who don’t even have enough skill to fill out an ABLLS-R or VB MAPP.

For a great guide for parents of beginner learners, we typically recommend the book: An Early Start for Your Child With Autism

Here’s where to find the assessment and guide. Attached is an excel document that we developed so that you can visually see progress.
