Animal Sounds

The steps of this program take a learner from receptive –> tact –>reverse tact –> intraverbal within the same set of targets before moving on to a new set of targets.

It’s recommended to run targets in sets of 3 to promote generalization and learning. Pick a set of 3 animals (eg: duck, frog, bird) and go through all steps with those 3 animals. Once a learner can master those 3 at the intraverbal level (if age appropriate), move onto a new set of targets.

For a younger student or one who struggles more with tacting fluency, you can adjust by running 2 steps at a time (a, b through all targets, then c, d through all targets).

Pre-requisite skills: fill-ins with songs and preferred routines (eg: ready, set…”go”); receptive and expressive labels (not required to have mastered this yet).
