Students around the age of 4-5 typically develop a tripod pincer grip. If your student is older than this, you can do practice drills of picking up a pencil properly over and over. This can be very dry, but with a good reinforcer at the end of the drill, it can be a quick and easy way to develop proper pincer grip.
